Merry Christmas & a Funky New Year!

Merry Christmas to YOU!!!

I wish you to
RECEIVE wonderful beauties from the world,
GIVE from your heart and
SHARE sweet moments with your loved ones (including yourself)…

and a Funky New Year!!!

I wish you to BE yourself in 2012 (everyone else is taken) !!!

Before going into 2012, I’d like to acknowledge 2011… What a year!!

What did you do? I know you did a lot! And me too, that’s why I’m taking a few minutes to think about all I’ve achieved… You’re welcome to do the same, and share it here!

So, what did I do in 2011 and would like to acknowledge?
I led a fantastic Vision Board workshop with Jayne Morris, led two “My Body: A Masterpiece” workshops and three parts of “Chakras’ Journey in your sketchbook” 10 weeks course, three “Revive the Artist in You” workshops, two “Learn how to draw a portrait in a day” and eleven taster sessions and gave twelve one-to-one sessions helping 53 people to acknowledge their creative power and reclaim their healing gifts.

I’ve painted 16 clown portraits, made 40 inner spiral drawings, 7 chakras drawings, three giant self-portrait pastels and oil, one “Woman Creation” oil painting, took on an etching class, wrote 39 poems, created and performed one live performance “The Conquest of the Hearts”, performed “One minute a day” five times, opened my studio for three days at the Euroart Open Studios, performed the werewolf in “Wolf: Let us prey” in Brompton Cemetery, designed the set of “The History of the Pomegranate” in Jacksons’ Lane theatre, performed the aerialist in “Once Bitten” in Glasgow, made one movie called “Danse-moi”, performed four poems by Simon David over two performances in Royal Court studio and the Bookshop.

I met Julia Cameron, attended her “The Artist’s way” creativity bootcamp, met Kath Burlinson, went to two of her “Authentic Artist” workshops, went to Paul Oertel’s “The Discipline of Freedom” 7 days retreat in Cornwall, met so talented people, trained as a Theta Healing practitioner for three days, attended 3 modules of the Helios School of Healing, passed the first year, practised this healing modality on 14 people. I gave around 374 hours of French lessons, have written and recorded 41 video tips to help people revive the artist in them,  I attended the Landmark Forum for 3 days, danced for 5 days at the Biodanza summer festival, fell in love with Vincent again.

I started reading and still am reading A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson, Anam Cara by John O’Donohue, The Artist’s way by Julia Cameron, went to Sevilla, Paris, Glasgow, Brighton, Bath, Biarritz, La Grange de Bourgoult, Sydney, London, called my grand father over 40 times to tell him how much I love him, and my mum and my dad and my sister and Anna, and Vincent and Zazou and Julia and Yoana and ALbi. I can’t even remember everything I’m proud of. And five minutes ago, I was again thinking I’m not good enough.

And I’m not even thinking about who I have become, who I’ve loved and the wonders that naturally happened to me. Oh and I’ve been swimming at least 24 times and went to 4 Body Pump sessions lifting weights! Yahooooo!

What a wonderful exercise!
Thank you for having inspired it to me.

Much love and joy and tears,
Juliette x

I’m going to Glasgow!!!

I’m going to Glasgow this week-end because…  I’m performing in

“Once Bitten”

An interactive digital happening and live theatre project being devised by Zoie Kennedy of TWICE SHY THEATRE with Desmond O’Connor of O’CONNOR ARTS & ENTS.

‘Once Bitten’ is due to open Glasgow Cabaret Festival on Saturday 8th October, 2011 at The Cottier Theatre, West End.

Zoie has created this amazing interactive website to follow eveything happening with the show!! http://www.twiceshytheatre.com

“Roll up, roll up! Hear the band’s discordant waltz. See the clowns cry crocodile tears and the strong-man gorge himself on forbidden flesh in this twisted circus of humanity.”

Once Bitten introduces Desmond O’Connor, Zoie Kennedy, Juliette Jeanclaude and a team of gifted musicians in a new theatre cabaret piece that explores the desire to lay oneself bare on stage whilst hiding behind the manifold masks of the entertainer.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Inspired by the show Once Bitten and its clown theme, I’ve started a series of Clown Portraits!

You come, we dance together, you apply your own clown make up and I paint your portrait, “The Clown in You”!!

The portrait will then be part of an exhibition linked to the show Once Bitten (possibly in Glasgow in October 2011 and in every cities where the show will tour in 2012, including Manchester, New York, Adelaide, Paris !).

I can pay for your travel expenses and for your time if desired or we can do an exchange of skills (maybe you can come to one of my workshops as a guest!).

If you like a portrait, they are for sale at £150 each.
20 cm x 20 cm oil on canvas, 2011.

Up for meeting the clown in you? Call me on 07722064707 or email: juliette.jeanclaude@gmail.com.

The Photos of Pomegranate have arrived!

Hi,

In August 2011, I have created the set and costume for Lewis Barfoot’s debut solo piece. The show opened on Wednesday 31st August in Jacksons Lane, London and ran for four nights.

I just received the photos by Michael Shelford! Enjoy watching them by scrolling down…
Learn more about him on his website:

The History of the Pomegranate

is a wonderful exploration into this gorgeous sexy fruit and its impact in myth, science and art.

Author/ Actress: Lewis Barfoot
Director by Kath Burlinson
Designer by Juliette Jeanclaude
Assistant Designer: by Franziska Schmidt-Dengler
Lighting design: Tom White
Stage Manager: Rebecca Day

I also set up an exhibition in the foyer of Jacksons Lane called Once Upon a Pomegranate… Inspired by research into 18th century botanist drawings of the ruby fruit, it explores the cycle of life and death using colour and playfulness.
I sold one painting, the other ones are still for sale!

Contact Juliette: 00447722064707 for more info.

Photos of “The Conquest of the Hearts” – Live Art Performance

I received the photos of “The Conquest of the Hearts”!

A unique live art performance I offered last Thursday at Open the Gate in London!

75 min of dancing, painting and story telling accompanied by genius percussionist Siemy Di (drum) and Jim Lampi (chapman stick)!

It was a unique art experience! Here is what people said:

“I felt like I attended a happening from the 60′s!”
“It was very compelling and personal”
“You made me think of Patti Smith.”
“This drummer knows what he’s doing!”
“You gave yourself 120%!!”
“The way she speaks, Juliette makes me think of Godard and Truffaut’s movies…”

Well, I felt very brave and expressive! :-) 3 stories to unfold the hearts…

With texts written in French last summer through automatic writing, developed during my creative retreat in Penzance with Paul Oertel in May, translated in English with the help of Simon David, rehearsed in music with Katie Rose, with improvised dance and live painting, I offered all my skills! Combined with Siemy and Jim’s incredible music skills, the result was quite outstanding!

Street Performance in Seven Sisters

Hi! How are you?

Do you feel  in tune with what you are doing at the moment?

In the previous post, I said I was feeling so in tune with performing that I would probably end up doing it in the street soon! Well two days later, here I was! Saying my poem “A minute A day” to people in Seven Sisters, North London.

I’d like to say thank you to Kaarel Damian Tamre who took pictures on that day! God what an adventure, going to people and ask them: “Do you feel that time is getting faster lately?” and carry on with the poem :-) Some people were freaking out, some people were intrigued, one guy listened till the end and enjoyed! I’m not sure how I would have reacted myself! But hey I felt so human…

HERE ARE THE PICTURES

Much love,

Juliette x

Special price until 30th June £18.90 instead of £21.90

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

What were people most disturbed by?

Well, some

drawings from my erotic spiral

needed some parental agreement.

You can see more of them there: http://juliettejeanclaude.com/paintings/erotic-spiral-18/

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

What were people most amazed by?

The oil painting called

“La Détermination de l’artiste”

190 x 140cm started in 2004 finished in 2011, triggered many strong sensations in people:
“The colours are so vibrant, there is so much to look at, a whole story”
.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

What were women most inspired by?

When I say this oil painting called

“Woman Creation”

190 x 150 cm, has been created just after I read a short story called “Seal skin Soul skin”
from the book Women who run with the wolves by Clarissa Pinkola-Estes,
the passion in women is suddenly awakened!

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

What else?

My performance

“A minute A day”

has been applauded heartfully by a group of 25 to 50 people each day. It felt right. It feels more and more right for me to perform. So I will do it more and more, possibly everyday, possibly in the street…
Be prepared!

Much love to you,

Thank you to those who could attend, thank you to those who are reading this post, thanks to those who couldn’t make it!

PS: there were 37 artists exhibiting, among them, Tom Farthing (painter), Trix (mixed media artist), Phaedon Constantinidis (painter) , Jim Pimpkin (painter, thank you for letting me perform in front of your landscapes!), Maria Papandrea (costume designer), Lorraine Clarke (and her fertility dolls) and more. A delight for the eyes and very refreshing for the mind! It’s always good to see various types of work, (re)discover what is possible, it’s inspiring!

Thank you all!

Juliette x
