In his idea that as a human meets their basic needs they also strive to satisfy a higher needs in his pyramid of needs. His pyramid of needs consist of Physiological, Safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization.Physiological needs are the physical requirements for human survival. If these requirements are not met, the human body cannot function properly and will ultimately fail. Air, water and food are the basic requirement for the basic mammal to survive. The Physiological needs are thought to be the most important; they should be met first. The safety need come next. People need to feel safe in life so there is no worries and people can live at ease. Know that you are safe will allow you to do a lot of different things in life. Love is a vital part of life being loved by your spouse, friends, and family. Feeling loved gives you confidence in life to do other things. Ensuring that your heart and head is understanding that you are loved, keeps people going. Esteem is like your self-esteem, having all the other need met can help you have a higher self-esteem. Having a higher self-esteem will allow you to conquer the world. The final part of his pyramid is self-actualization. This is the way you feel about yourself in a big picture of life. Having all of the need met will give you a great perception in life and will allow you to conquer your own goals. The pyramid is a model that way made in the 40s and continue to be used today.
